Leaf It to Me” – A Free Autumn Keepsake & Nature Painting Activity
Some of the most magical moments in motherhood don’t come with instructions… they come with muddy shoes, giggles, and the rustle of autumn leaves in little hands.
Today, I’m sharing a free printable that’s all about creating memories and messes worth keeping—the “Leaf It to Me” Autumn Keepsake.
It’s not just a coloring page. It’s a moment waiting to happen.

The Activity: A Nature-Painting Adventure
Here’s how to turn this printable into a cozy fall experience:
What You’ll Need:
The free “Leaf It to Me” printable (download it below)
Finger paint, washable paint, or watercolor
A glue stick
A short nature walk (or even a quick backyard explore)
Sticks, leaves, bark, or acorns your child collects
---
Instructions:
1. Go on a Mini Nature Hunt
Bundle up and head outdoors—even just around the garden or park. Encourage your little one to find leaves, twigs, and anything “autumny” that catches their eye.
2. Talk About It
Ask them questions: “What’s your favorite leaf?” or “Does this bark feel rough or smooth?” It’s sensory learning wrapped in fun.
3. Come Inside and Get Creative
Lay down the printable. Let your child:
Paint with their fingers or dip sticks/leaves into paint to stamp and swirl
Glue real leaves and nature bits onto the blank space
4. Add the Sweet Touch
Fill in your child’s name, age, and date. Then, in the “Mommy’s Memory” section, write a few lines about this special little adventure together.
---
Why This Matters
In just 20 minutes, you’ll have a page full of paint splashes, leaf smudges, and a memory frozen in time.
This is the kind of keepsake you’ll tuck away and find years later—still warm with the memory of this exact season of motherhood.
